Mission. Bliss Kid Yoga is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to providing both free and affordable yoga programs for children, families and educators in order to nurture physical and emotional health within the community.

Yoga Programs. We provide yoga programs for families and children of all abilities and populations. Our programs promote positive bonding experiences and give families the tools to help their children thrive. They are designed to nurture a child’s innate bliss by engaging mind, body and spirit. We cohesively combine all of the following elements with story-telling and music to provide a playful and creative approach to yoga in a comfortable and safe environment. Learn more here. What we focus on.

  • Breath Awareness Techniques: Increase focus, reduce stress and promote self-regulation.
  • Yoga Poses: Increase strength and flexibility, body awareness and coordination.
  • Cooperative Games: Promote positive social interactions, communication and confidence.
  • Meditation: Enhance concentration, reduce stress and provide a vehicle to arrive in the present.
  • Mindfulness: Learn healthy habits, self-awareness and non-violence.
  • Relaxation: Cultivate a peaceful sense of being and rejuvenate.

Past and present programs include:

Breathing Games-Free Family Play Groups at Easter Seals for children ages 0-3 years and their caregiver. Playgroups are open to all abilities. Families learn self-regulation techniques, ways to combat stress, experience authentic play, bond and bend with their little one.

-Free Family Yoga at Whole Foods Market for all abilities and ages. In this class we create positive bonding experiences through playful yoga adventures and cooperative games all while learning healthy habits. In 2016 WFM hosted a Community Giving Day for Bliss Kid Yoga in order to help fund our Free Family programs at Easter Seals and continues to be an active partner.

 

-Yoga for refugee students in AISD. In this class we concentrate on poses and games that promote confidence, cooperation and build language skills, self-soothing breathing techniques to reduce stress and promote overall relaxation and strategies to help us identify and make healthy choices. This class is in partnership with Amaanah Refugee Services.

-Free Family Yoga at Springdale Urban Farm for all ages and abilities. English language learners welcome. Classes are during market hours. SNAP, Food Stamps and Double Dollar program accepted. This class empowers families through the life changing benefits of yoga so that they may live happy and healthy lives for generations to come. Support this program here.

 

website5-Spring Break and Summer Camp for preschool and elementary school. Children receive a unique camp experience filled with discovery based learning. Children study nature science, farming, healthy eating, yoga, art, music, acroyoga and more. View more camp photos here.

-Bliss Kid Yoga also teaches after-school yoga programs at various schools both public and private in the Austin area including St. Francis School and Children’s Discovery Center South and Northwest. We also guest teach at scout meetings and other organizations.

 

 

 

Parent and Educator Training. Bliss Kid Yoga offers training sessions to help teachers and parents incorporate elements of yoga into the classroom and family’s home life to promote the physical and emotional benefits of yoga throughout the child’s day. We also hold trainings seasonally for our teachers and volunteers.

Educational Curriculum Development. Bliss Kid Yoga creates written curriculum specifically for parents, educators and yoga teachers. This curriculum assists adults with incorporating a developmentally appropriate yoga practice in a child’s home life, classroom or yoga class for children. Curriculum is theme based and follows Bliss Kid Yoga’s key concepts listed above.
